Hello!

Hi Everyone
I know it's been ages since I've posted. Life got busy, but it's time to revisit.
I'm going to try to post waaay more frequently. I'd like to be able to give you tips about things that will help you and your kids through this time and ways that you can save money, stretch your money and other useful tips.
First things first.
This schedule is great. I've been loosely using it with my boys and it has helped add structure to our days.

Best Pub Fare EVER

So I love getting all those deals in my inbox from Groupon, DealTicker, WebPiggy, Living Social and so on. I generally only buy deals for restaurants that are close to home. What can I say? I love my neighbourhood and like supporting it. LOCAL!!! Anyways, I bought a deal from Living Social for a new pub in my 'hood, called McGugan's (mcgugans). So, last night Bryan and I got a babysitter and went out for some grub and a pint. Well... We walked in and I felt like i was back in the UK. The friendly smiles of the staff and patrons as soon as you walk in the door create a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to make the place a favourite haunt.
We sat down in a cozy booth and opened our menus. Bryan had a beer and I had a cider that I'd never had before and really liked (can't for the life of me remember what it was called). We ordered the Beer & Bacon Cheddar Dip (Creamy Bacon & Beer Cheese Dip with Cheddar Crust, Served with Tortilla Chips) to start and it was so yummy! Served hot and fresh with tomatoes and green onion garnish, we almost licked the bowl clean. For mains, I ordered the traditional fish and chips with gravy (Beer Battered Haddock, Chips, Malt Vinegar with Famous Home Made Tartar) and Bryan ordered the steak and chips (Grilled New York Striploin with Thyme & Shallot sauce, served with Chips). Bryan cleaned his plate. As for my order, I was dumbfounded when they brought it to me- the fish looked like an entire fish! It was the biggest serving of fish I had ever seen, and also, the tastiest. The batter was zoo good and the fish was light and deliciously flaky. The chips reminded me of a chip truck, salted perfectly and cut with the skins on. I couldn't finish my food and I'm really looking forward to having it for lunch today!
To sum up, McGugan's is the best new pub around and I hope it's here to stay!

The Best Shortbread in Toronto

Mary MacLeod's Shortbread is so yummy- the cookies literally melt in your mouth.  I know it's part of my Scottish background, but I love shortbread, and this is only place that sells the closest thing to homemade (because it is!).

Go out and support local businesses!

Great New Business in the Beach

4 Cats has been open since April 2012. I had never heard of it. Its a franchise that has finally come to Toronto. William went to a birthday party there on Sunday and it was awesome. Its an Art Studio that is geared to children.

From the Website:"Kids get to work in a variety of mediums, taking inspiration from the works of famous artists. If we are studying Andy Warhol, we silk screen and make ink blot paintings. If we are studying Picasso, we create acrylic on canvas cubist paintings and ceramics, if we are studying Frida Kahlo, we make paper-mache and paint acrylic on canvas self-portraits. You get the picture!
We throw in a lot of age-appropriate art history! Did you know Andy Warhol had 25 cats named Sam? Did you know Georgia O’Keeffe ate dirt? Did you know Leonardo da Vinci wrote his notes in secret code? Curators tell captivating and inspiring stories in a fun and humorous manner about the life and work of the artist being introduced.

The parents were able to bring food into the studio too, which was so convenient, as you know many places won't allow that, which means you have to have cake elsewhere (INCONVENIENT!!!).

Below is the link to the website- check it out!
